Rudy Gay
Also known as “The Great Rudini,” Rudy is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the NBA team, the Utah Jazz as a small/power forward. Born in Brooklyn, New York, but raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Gay played college basketball for the University of Connecticut before being drafted eighth overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets.
Nicknamed the “Big Truck,” or simply the “Truck,” the ‘NBA’ veteran of 16 years has played for teams such as the Memphis Grizzlies, the Toronto Raptors, the Sacramento Kings, the San Antonio Spurs, and now, since 2021, the Utah Jazz. He is currently one of the only two players in the league, the other being living legend LeBron James, with at least 15,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, 1,000 steals, and 500 blocks.

As a result, a $5,000 donation was given by the NBA on behalf of Gay to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Gay, who wore number 22 with Memphis, personally donated $22,222.22 to the hospital.
